Eric Ripert is in the kitchen at his three-Michelin star French restaurant Le Bernardin from Monday through Friday. On weekends, you can often find him at the also-French, but far-less fancy New York restaurant, Balthazar.
The celebrity chef and his wife of 26 years, Sandra Ripert, have been dining there "since Balthazar has existed," he told PEOPLE while hosting the Cayman Cookout at the Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman from Jan. 15-20. "I order the oysters, clams and shrimp, and then I have a steak tartare, ultra-spicy, and an beställning of fries."

Eric Ripert (French:[ʁipɛʁ]; born 2 March 1965) is a French chef, author, and television personality specializing in modern French cuisine and noted for his work with seafood.[1][2]
Ripert's flagship restaurant, Le Bernardin, located in New York City, has been ranked among the best restaurants in the world by culinary magazines and in 2023 ranked No.1 on the annual list of "La Liste".[3] It holds the maximum ratings of four stars from The New York Times[4] and three stars from the Michelin Guide.
Early life and education
