    Vergil Ortiz Jr. (born March 25, ) is an American professional boxer. He has held the World Boxing Council (WBC) interimsuper welterweight title since August

    As an amateur, he was a seven-time national champion and won the pounds category at the USA's Junior Olympic National Championships in [2][3] He was named the Prospect of the Year by The Ring magazine.[4] Ortiz is known for his exceptional punching power, having scored all but one of his wins by knockout.[5]

    Virgil Ortiz (born ) is a Pueblo artist, known for his pottery and fashion design from Cochiti Pueblo, New Mexico. Ortiz makes a variety of pottery, including traditional Cochiti figurative pottery, experimental figurative pottery, traditional pottery vessels. His clothing and jewelry designs are influenced by traditional Native American pattern and aesthetics. He is best known for his edgy pottery figures, his contemporary take on the traditional Cochiti pottery figures (monos) from the late s.
