  • Student-Authored Scientist Spotlights: Investigating the Impacts of Engaging Undergraduates as Developers of Inclusive Curriculum through a Service-Learning Course

    INTRODUCTION

Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines continue to struggle to engage, effectively teach, and retain postsecondary students, both generally and particularly among women and students of color (Seymour and Hunter, 2019). Concern about these issues has spurred national reports and earnest efforts, yet widespread reform and increases in students’ sense of belonging in science continues to be elusive (National Research Council, 2003; President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, 2012; Singer et al., 2012). One approach to promoting inclusion in undergraduate science courses has been to address the representation of scientists in undergraduate STEM curricula, which may often present exclusionary views of who can do science and the characteristics of scientists, limiti

  • The Development of International Law as a Science (Volume 105)

ABSTRACTLudwik Ehrlich explains that the science of international law is a positive science, which means that it deals with facts and not with inferences drawn from a priori accepted principle. Abstract:

Inspired bygd Antonio Gramsci's analysis of bourgeois hegemony and his theoretical formulation of historical blocs, this paper attempts to explain how the concept and practice of sustainable development were captured by corporate interests in the last few decades of the twentieth century and how they were transformed into what we can name a ‘good Anthropocene’ historical bloc at the beginning of the twenty-first
