Cindera Che is an Asian American actor and dancer best known for her distinct role as the Madame in Michael Jackson: Smooth Criminal (1988). Her career spans over thirty years with her recent appearances on ABC's sitcom Fresh Off the Boat (2015), NBC's Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (2020), ABC's dramedy Lethal Weapon (2016) and working with the creator of Master of None (2015), Alan Yang in his directorial debut in Netflix's feature - Tigertail (2020).
Cindera started her career as a dancer appearing on a weekly television variety show, at the age of twelve, in her hometown Taipei, Taiwan. In 1977, her father purchased a House of Pies restaurant in Orange County and moved the family to the United States. Q) What can you tell us about the premise for “Dr. Ken” and about your character Molly?
A) “Dr. Ken” is a fun and silly ‘family next-door’ sitcom about a doctor with terrible bedside manner trying to juggle his life at work and his life as a parent and husband at home. Molly is Ken and Allison’s sixteen year old daughter. She’s smart and fashionable, but like any other teenager beginning to test her limits and boundaries in being treated like an adult. She’s very responsible, but is also a social butterfly and especially loves social media. In these beginning episodes, you’ll definitely notice that Molly has quite a sassy attitude that one can only assume she picks up from her dad. Definitely keep a look out for Molly’s fun outfits, too!
