Nancy Pelosi shares her regret about never hosting ‘SNL’ and critiques political vitriol
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi shared one of her biggest regrets in a recent episode of Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Wiser Than Me podcast, revealing her wish to have hosted Saturday Night Live.
Despite having been a recurring character on the show, Pelosi told Louis-Dreyfus, “One of my regrets is that I never hosted Saturday Night Live. I’m really funny.”
Louis-Dreyfus encouraged Pelosi to pursue the opportunity, offering to help her prepare. However, the 84-year-old former Speaker dismissed the idea, stating, “It’s over. It’s too late. I’ve crossed the bridge.” Pelosi noted the age of the oldest host, Betty White, who was 88 when she appeared on SNL in 2010, but remained firm in her decision.
