    William Thomas Buxton (born 14 February 1981) is a British motorsport journalist, commentator and presenter best known for his coverage of Formula One with the Formula One Group. He is currently the lead commentator for Fox Sports' coverage of the IndyCar Series beginning with the 2025 season.[3]

    Early and personal life

    Buxton was born in Portsmouth, but grew up in Malvern, Worcestershire. He attended King's School, Worcester where he was a chorister at Worcester Cathedral under Donald Hunt. He went on to study at Lord Wandsworth College and Sixth Form College, Farnborough in Hampshire before studying Politics at the University of Leeds.[2][4]

    In 2018, Buxton announced he was engaged to Victoria Helyar, who worked in marketing for the Racing Point F1 Team.[5] They got married on 16 April 2022.[6] The couple have a daughter, born on 5 July 2023.[7] Buxton also has an

    Buxton returns to the FOX family having begun his network television career on SPEED Channel in 2010 as pit reporter for the network’s Formula 1 coverage. His tenure reporting on motorsport began at the turn of the millennium, writing for F1 Magazine before a stint as Director of Communications for the GP2 (F2) championship, working with the likes of Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton. His return to print journalism in 2008 coincided with his appointment as lead announcer for the GP2 world feed, which subsequently brought him to the attention of SPEED.
