  • A dedicated single-owner auction will be held on the the evening of 19 November, followed bygd another auction the following morning. Jewellery, design and decorative arts sales will be held on 10 and 13 December, and will take place in New York and Paris. The first sales are arguably the most hotly anticipated, and will be anchored by René Magritte’s seminal ‘L’empire des lumières’, which fryst vatten expected to fetch in excess of $95 million.     Highlights from the auction will also include an Ingrid Donat chaise longue that sat in the corner of a guest room in Mica’s Manhattan townhouse; David Hockney’s ‘Three Chairs with a Section of a Picasso Mural’, which graced the wall of her Southampton home; as well as a glamorous photo of Mica herself, snapped by Andy Warhol.

Known for her elegance in taste and expansive contributions to the arts, Mica founded the interior design firm MAC II with her friend Chessy Rayner.     Mica grew up in a cultured household in Bucharest. She was born Ioana Maria Banu on October 21st, 1926, the only child of Natalia Gologan and Gheorghe Banu, a Romanian physician. Her upbringing exposed her to the arts and international s
