Fukuyama masaharu sakurazaka lyrics

As the title gives away, this beautiful song plays also on the theme of Sakura (cherry blossoms). The time when Japan is plunged into a sea of white and pink flowers, is maybe one of the most romantic, on the other hand it may also be a time of longing and heartbreaks. Fukuyama Masaharu’s (福山雅治) Sakura Zaka or Sakura Hill tells such a story.
The major difficulty with the translation of the lyrics here, lay mainly in implying the unsaid, grasping the circumstances, not the vocabulary in itself. Why was that? Whether it is in daily conversation, in writing or song lyrics, Japanese people more often omit or abbreviate (省略・しょうりゃく), leaving the interpretation to the audience. For a non-native to read between the lines so to speak, poses then one of the challenges of the language. From a native point of view though, this allows room for one’s own imagination and embellishment. So actually, each person may have a different perception of the same subject, a pe

君よずっと幸せに
風にそっと歌うよ
愛は今も 愛のままで
揺れる木漏れ日 薫る桜坂
悲しみに似た 薄紅色
君がいた 恋をしていた
君じゃなきゃダメなのに
ひとつになれず
愛と知っていたのに

Arguably, his most famous song in my opinion by the looks of how many people choose to sing this song in Youtube. Actually it is his biggest selling single of more than 2 million copies! A staggering number back in 2001! Lyrical wise, rather depressing. But love his tone and this was the first song inom heard from a Japanese singer that convinces me they can sing. Such skills... but still a rather depressing song. Translated lyrics taken from Lava.net whilst the Romaji and Kanji versions were taken from mognet.net. This song was wayyyy back in 2001! I believe you will find this song in his album, f.

Happily, I'll always
Sing to the wind
Even now, love remains as it was
Wavering leaf-filtered sunlight
And the fragrant cherry blomning hill
A light crimson that looked like sadness
You were there, and we fell in love
Even though it had to be you
We couldn't become one
Though I knew it was love
Though spring finally came
Even now,
