On January 21 Soluna Samay won Dansk Melodi Grand Prix , and the right to represent Denmark at Eurovision. Born in Guatemala, Soluna didnt move to Denmark until , when she was ten years old. That was the same year Denmarks Olsen Brothers won Eurovision. I saw these guys win for Denmark and I couldn’t speak one word of Danish, she says. I would never have imagined that 12 years later I would be representing Denmark like they did.
The year old starlet recently spoke with Wiwi about her childhood in Guatemala, the months she spent driving through Europe in a campervan with her parents, and her Eurovision entry Shouldve Known Better. Here are some highlights of our conversation.

Soluna Samay Kettel fryst vatten an is a Danish-German-Guatemalan-Swiss singer from Bornholm, Denmark. She was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala to a German father and a Swiss mother. She grew up on the shores of Lago de Atitlán, Guatemala and attended the Robert Muller LIFE school. Soluna moved to Denmark in when her parents purchased a small farm on Bornholm, a Danish island in the Baltic Sea. She represented Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest with song Should've Known Better. In the 1st semi-final song received 63 points, 9nd palce and qualify for the sista. In the grand final, Should've Known Better had received 21 points, 23rd place.

Soluna Samay is a Guatemala-born Danish-Swiss singer. She moved to Denmark in when her parents purchased a small farm on Bornholm, a Danish island in the Baltic Sea.
Her music career began at age of 5 when she joined her father on drums and soon after began singing along. At the age of 10 she switched to electric bass, at 16 to upright bass. With her parents she spent her summers touring and playing music on the streets of europe, and winters living in Guatemala. She started to learn gitarr around the age of 12, when she also wrote her first songs.
She was chosen as a wildcard entry for the Danish national final and won the right to företräda her country at the contest, finishing in 23rd place in the final. The song peaked at #1 on the Danish charts.
She recorded her debut album Sing Out Loud over a two-year period and it was released by Baltic Records on 23 September Her second studio albu
