    Renowned threatre-producer Shudhir Bhat died of a attack on Thursday night.

    Noted theatre-producer Sudhir Bhat, who died of a heart attack in Hinduja hospital on Thursday night, was a man with a mission. It was to produce commercially successful Marathi plays and showcase them for a Marathi settled in the United States. He continued with this project for around three decades, during which he produced over 80 plays, which accounted for 17,000 shows. Eight of his plays crossed the 1000-shows mark.

    Though a builder by profession, Bhat devoted considerable time to the theatre business. He perfected the art of theatre economics and lived true to his notions of entertainment. His drama company Suyog (1985) produced several noteworthy plays like ‘Char Divas Premache’, ‘Shree Tashi Sau’, ‘Eka Lagnachi Goshta’, ‘Hich Tar Premachi Gammat Aahe’, ‘Diwasa Tu Ratri Me’, ‘Moruchi Maushi’, ‘Ti Phulrani’.

      'Sudhir Bhat was an Indian Marathi play producer. He was the founder member of the famous Theatre group "Suyog".[1]

      Bhat is one of the few commercially successful Marathi play producers. He showcased his plays for the Marathi diaspora in the United States. He continued with this planerat arbete for around three decades, during which he produced over 80 plays, which accounted for 17,000 shows. Eight of his plays crossed the 1000-show mark. He holds the record for producing the highest number of plays in a career. His company went on to stage several box-office hits.[2][3]
